Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission has release
the result of the Local Government General Elections that
took place in the State on the 27th of March, 2004. The information
reaching us shows that it was a clean sweep for People Democraty
party in both the Councillorship and Chairman Elections.

BYE-ELECTIONS
The Elections that were cancelled in Asari-Toru Local Government
were repeated as bye-election on the 1st of April 2004. The result
of the bye-election shows that PDP continued their clean sweep of
the polls in the state by winning all the Councillorship and Chairmanship
of the Local Government.
Also in the bye-election, the four wards of Ahoada-East Local government
Election were conduct. PDP also won all.
The results gave a 100% victory for PDP in the state.
