HON. ALABI MICHEAL REMI (J.P.) was born on the 28th of February, 1950 in Ifon-Osun town in Orolu Local government of Osun state. He started his primary education in St John’s Roman Catholic Mission School Ifon-Osun in 1955. He moved to St Michael’s RCM School, Odo-Oya, Ogbomoso in 1958 he later moved to St John RCM School in Ifon-Osun in 1959 where he completed his Primary education and obtained the Primary Six Leaving School Certificate in 1960. He proceeded to St James’ Modern School Osogbo; he obtained the Modern III Certificate in 1963. He attended St Andrew’s College Oyo where he obtained Modern school Grade II Certificate in 1971. He had his Tertiary education in University of Ibadan from 1978 to 1979 where he obtained a Diploma in Physical and Health Education. He started his working carrier early in 1966 as an Agip Petrol Station Manager in Ogbomoso, he progressed from this private employment into public service as a teacher. As a teacher he was also interested and participated in politics. As a result of his political interest, he voluntarily retired from the civil service to contest election on the 31st of May 1983 for a seat in the House of Assembly of Oyo State. Thought he was not successful in this election, he continued his political carrier and was elected a councilor 1988 in old Irepodun Local Government Ilobu. After his councillorship tenure, he became the party Secretary to the defunct Social Democratic Party in old Irepodun Local Government, Ilobu branch between 1990 to 1993. In 1987 he was appointed President Cooperative consumer forum in Ifon-Osun; he held that office till 1995. He was appointed Chairman District Education Committee Irepodun Local Government Ilobu and Orolu Local Government Ifon respectively from March 1994 to June 1999. In recognition of his experience in politics and public service, he was appointed as member of Commission to the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission in 2004 where he is servicing till date.
