Hon Chief Ishola, Isaac Bamidele

Hon Chief Ishola, Isaac Bamidele was born on the 2nd of December, 1945 in Ijebu-Ijesa, Osun State. He had his early primary education in Baptist-day School Ijaiye, Abeokuta in Ogun state from 1953 to 1960 where he obtained the Primary Six leaving school Certificate. He attended the popular Baptist boys’ High School Abeokuta, Ogun state from 1961 to 1965 and obtained the West African School Certificate (Division One). He attended University of Ibadan Preliminary class 1966 to 1967 he proceeded from there to Bolton Institute of Technology (Now Bolton University) in Lancashire, England where he obtained Higher National Diploma In Textile Technology in 1974 And Associate Textile Institute 1974 (The A.T.I is a professional qualification; Equivalent to an honours degree).

Hon Ishola Bamidele started working life as a class teacher in Baptist Boys’ High School, Abeokuta in Jan 1966. He continued his teaching carrier in Lisabi Grammar School, Abeokuta in Sept 1957. When he moved to the United Kingdom for further studies, he also had the opportunity to work; he was employed in Maths & Platts Ltd, Manchester UK from July 1974 to Feb., 1975. On return to Nigeria he worked with Sandoz Nigeria Ltd, Gbagada Industial estate Lagos as Technical Manager from March 1975 to Dec., 1984. He became Chairman/Managing Director Bands Technical Company Ltd 1985 To 1995. He went into large scale private farming in 1966 till 2007 when he was appointed to be board member of Osun State Independent Electoral Commission. In March 2007 where is serving till date.

He is a socialite and has several extra curricular activities; he is member of Nigeria Export Promotional council, member Nigeria Textile Exporters Association, member Osun State Farm Settlers Association. Also he was secretary general Ijebu-Ijesa social club; Financial secretary Former Financial Secretary Ijebu Jesha Unions’ Conference Lagos North branch, Secretary Baptist Boys’ High School, Abeokuta Old Students Association- Club 615. Member Lagos Country Club, Ikeja, Lagos and President Merit Club, Agege Lagos.

On the political front, he was a strong member of the defunt National Republican Convention (N.R.C.). He contested for a seat at The Federal House Of Representatives under the flag of The N.R.C in July 1992 for Oriade Federal Constituency and was a strong member of the defunt United Nigeria Congress Party (U.N.C.P).

As a man of excellence he has been recongnised for his this and has received several awards both home and away; in november1991, he was installed the Bobagunwa Of Ijebu-Jesha By The Oba Of Ijebu-Jesha, Oba Ajayi Palmer Ajifolokun II. In April 1992, he was installed the Maiyegun Of Alagba Agege in Lagos. In November 1992, he was awarded the Honourary Doctor Of Business Administration Degree By Bradley University, U.S.A. A widely traveled person who has visited may countries of the world; on both official and business activities. the countries include United Kingdom, United States Of America, Germany, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Italy, Singapore And Switzerland.

He is happily married and blessed with children.
