Hon Justice (Chief) Titus Adewuyi Oyeyemi (Rtd)

Hon Justice (Chief) Titus Adewuyi Oyeyemi (Rtd) was born into Oyeyemi family on the 6th day of March 1939 at Ile-Ife in Ife Central Local government of Osun state.

He started his early education at St Paul’s School Ayegbaju in 1945 but later moved to St Phillip School in Ayetoro and obtained his Primary Six Leaving School Certificate in 1952. He had his secondary School education in Oduduwa College in Ile-Ife from 1953 to 1959. He enrolled in the University of London General Certificate Exams where he obtained the Ordinary and Advanced level Certificates in 1964 and 1966 respectively. He proceeded to the University of Ile-Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University (O.A.U) in September 1966 where he obtained the Barchelor of Law degree in 1969. He then wrote the Law school exams and was called to the Bar in 26th June, 1970.

He started working in the early part of his carrier in the Ministry of Land and Housing; survey department in Ibadan in Dec. 1958 to 1966. Upon his being called to the Bar, he commenced his legal carrier and practice as;

i. Junior Counsel with Bayo Oduwole & CO – Solicitors & advocates in Ekotedo, Ibadan, Aug. 1970.

ii. Junior Counsel with Aderoju Aderemi & CO, Solicitors & Advocates, Mokola Oremeji Ibadan in June 1971.
He went on start his own chambers at Iremo Road, Ile-Ife in Sept., 1972.

In the course of his long legal carrier he had several State Legal appointments as well as serving in different legal associations and bodies and participating in several legal seminars and conferences as listed below.

Hon Justice (Chief) Titus Adewuyi Oyeyemi (Rtd), retired from public service as high court judge in accordance with the provision of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on 6th of March 2004 on the attainment of the age of 65 years after serving at the lower and higher bench of the Nigerian judiciary for a period of 28 years without blemish.
He is a Christian and married with children; he loves reading and gardening.
