The good news about Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission is that it is aware of its functions and responsibilities and has put everything in place for the actualization of same.

The basic physical electoral materials necessary for the conduct of the Local Government election ie. The voters' register, ballot boxes and papers are ready. The requests for fund from Government for the purpose have been made through the various budgetary allocations of 2002-2004 and Government has promised to release fund as soon as the dice is cast.

A committee is also in place for the delimitation of wards in the state. This was necessitated by the requests and agitations from various segments of the society. Judging by above claims alone at least 25 more wards may be created. Committees effort however has been affected at a point when it needed to travel to the affected communities to authenticate their claims. However, as soon as fund was released, committee will complete its assignment and new wards will be created for the consideration of INEC as the electoral laws demand.

NOTICE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION IN ONDO STATE.

In accordance with Ondo State Local Government Law of 2002, notice is hereby given that Election to:

i.              The office of Chairman/Member of Council shall be held on Saturday 27th March,                 2004.
ii.              that relevant information on the appropriate nomination Forms (collection, completion                 and submission) shall be made available to you in due course through the Commission's                 office in respective Local Government Areas.

This letter serves as a sufficient notice of the impending election which you are to dissemble within your Political Party according.
