STATE ELECTORAL GUIDELINES RELEASED.
As part of preparation for the forthcoming Local Government Council
Election in Edo State the State Independent Electoral Commissio
has released her Electoral Guidelines to the parties and general

STATE INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSION
LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMEN ELECTED IN THE DECEMBER 15, 2007 ELECTION IN EDO STATE
The Commission successfully conducted the Local Government election on Saturday, December 15, 2007 into the 18 (eighteen) Local Government Councils in the State. Consequent upon the deferment of elections in two Local Government Councils Oredo and Owan East, a bye-election was conducted on Saturday, December 22, 2007. The over all result of the election was that Peoples Democratic Party won the Chairmanship positions in the 18 (eighteen) Local Government Councils in addition to the 250 out of the 254 Councillorship position while the Action Congress won 3 and National Democratic Party won 1. Below are the Chairmen and the Local Government Areas.
