HON. KENNETH NWACHUKWU

Hon. Kenneth Nwachukwu was born in November 23, 1947 into the family of Late Mr. John Ogbogu Chimokwu and Late Mrs. Angelina Chimokwu both of Ogwashi-uku Kingdom, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.

He attended C.M.S. Primary School, Ibusa where he obtained a Primary School Leaving Certificate in 1956.
The following year, he was admitted into the local Authority Secondary Modern School, Ogwashi-uku and obtained the Secondary Modern School Certificate in December, 1959.

He started his teaching career as an auxiliary teacher between 1961 to 1963 and went back to school as a Student in the Government Teacher Training College Abraka in 1964 and obtained the Teachers Grade Two (T.C.II) Certificate in January 1967.

Upon completion of the Teachers Grade II Course, that same year, he was posted as a trained teacher to L. A. Secondary Modern School, Ogbeaho in Ogwashi-uku. Between 1970 – 1973. He taught at Nnabuwa Primary School Ogbeofu, Ogwashi-uku; during this period, he sat for and passed the G.C.E. A/level in Economic, Economic-History and History.

In 1974, he worked in the Ministry of Education as the A.E.O. sports and because of his organisational and administrative activities in the ministry, he was in 1974 awarded Citation sand Certificate of Honour into Aniocha Divisional Roll of Honour in Sports, Arts and Culture. He was also awarded Amateur Athletic Association (A.A.A) Certificate, in 1973. In 1975, he got admission into the Federal College of Education, Okene, Kogi State where he obtained a National Certificate of Education (N.C.E.) in 1977. In June, 1977, he was deployed to Kano State for his NYSC, and during the service year, he was posted to Teacher Training College Waje, Kano as a teacher. In the years 1978-1998; he taught in Adaigbo Secondary School, Ogwashi-uku as English teacher for senior classes and as a Teacher/Librarian.

During this period, he got admission into the University of Ibadan were he obtained a Bachelor of Education (B.ED) degree in Adult Education/History.

In the period 1988-1999, he was made a vice-principal academics at Comprehensive Secondary School Ogwashi-uku and vice Principal Administration from 2000 - 2001 and retired on the first of January, 2002 as Principal Special Grade.

Since his retirement from active civil service, he had taken very active interest in Community welfare and development. He was Secretary General of his Community: Agidiase and Secretary Agidiase Community Land monitoring Committee. He was also the brain behind the construction of a giant and magnificent Agidiase community Hall.

On 6th June, 2006, he was appointed a member of the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission where he is serving till date.

He is happily married to Mrs. Maria Ogbogu and the marriage is blessed with eight children.
