LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS CONCLUDED IN BAYELSA STATE.

The State Independednt Electoral Commission has concluded all elections into the 8 local government areas of the state. According to the Chairman of the State Electoral Commission Chief Christo Alazigha (JP), The elections were peaceful with no major casualties were disagreements arose during the process of conduction the elections. With the publication of the results on the Internet, the state electoral commision has demonstrated faith in the confidence reposed on her by the people of the state.

It would be recalled that the state initially started the creation of new local government areas in the state but however reverted to the old 8 local government in compliance with the Federal Government position on the creation of new local government. The state has decided to maintain the status quo until all the matters relating to the 'due process' of creating new local goverment areas are settled.
